On Saturday, September 17th of 2011, the Kirk and Nice Funeral Home celebrated 250 years of service with a dinner gala held at the William Penn Inn in Gywnedd, PA.
A Perfect Match: The Kirk and Nice Funeral Home, as the oldest funeral home in the United States, held its affair at the William Penn Inn, the oldest continuously run country inn in Pennsylvania.
Special guests from Kirk and Nice's past and present were invited to attend the festivities. Ms. Maryann Henderson, wife of the late Malcolm Henderson who was the last descendent of the Kirk and Nice lineage, attended the dinner.
Mr. Thomas M. Kitchen, the CEO of Stewart Enterprises, represented the company that purchased Kirk and Nice in 1993.

Ms. Maryeileen N. Appio, the manager of Kirk & Nice, Inc. in Plymouth Meeting, acted as MC and announced the evenings events.

Ms. Janice H. Mannal, the president of the Pennsylvania Funeral Director's Association, presented Kirk and Nice with a plaque in recognition of 250 years of service to the community.
Ms. Eva Brothers, Kirk and Nice's in-house historian, introduced the premiere of a short documentary about the funeral home's 250 year history.
The Kirk and Nice historical time-line was the backdrop for rare artifacts from the funeral home archives.

Crazy Rhythm, Fancy Feet provided a musical trio who entertained guests with a variety musical pieces from the past 250 years.

The staff of Kirk & Nice, Inc. and Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel took the opportunity to pose for a group photo with their Director of Operations, John R. Rapp to commemorate the special occasion.
